Highway gear

Good evening all. Your help will be much appreciated. I have a 54 Ford F100, 223ci six with Ford O Matic. Currently geared 3.73 I want to be able to drive 65mph. without turning 3000rpm. Do you think the six cyl. can pull 3.23 final ratio?

Sure, and that would probably be the ideal ratio if you still have 16 inch wheels!

There is another thread going on about gearing at the moment that you might want to look in on!

235/75R15s?

You should hit 65 at about 2600 rpm with that and a 3.23.

Heres a fun RPM calculator:

Gear Ratio Calculator.
