If you're thinking about the Platnium then how about this: hop across the border and import a Mark LT. Although these are two completely different trucks so why would you even consider either one? I get the whole lifted truck thing, but trust me, it can be a pain if you're looking for a city driver. Specially if you have to deal with those damn parking garages. In the end it's your choice, and if it was me I would still go with a Raptor, regardless of the extra trouble.

 

I want a Raptor. The Platnium is cool, but not fun enough.

 

I would go with the Raptor. The Platinum would probably ride nicer, but the Raptor has that cool factor. I think the Raptor would be cheaper too.

 

It's not. Check out the leather and the interior materials. It's all different than in the Raptor. Ford really worked hard in designing and producing these trucks for what they're meant to do.

What about the Harley? The Platinum took the place of the Mark LT. Usually you can wait and get a better deal on a Platinum. Locally here around the Augusta GA area. The Raptor was $50k Harley $48k and the Platinum $38k to $40k.

No Raptors to buy though. They are spoken for before they arrive.

 

Personally I don't like the Platinum, it's just not worth it to me. Whereas the Raptor has that Head turning Badass feel to it. The harley is just a step up from the Platinum, it doesn't say hey look my truck will eat yours for breakfast. The Harley just doesn't have the kahoonas anymore. The only acceptable Harley's are the '02-'03 F150 and newer Super Duty's.

So what I'm saying is..... Raptor > Platinum > Harley

 

I gotta agreed. Every time I see a raptor especially in black I think that's a BADASS truck.

 

the raptor is a lot of fun. test drove one two weekends ago. the dealer down the street has 4 of them, all are available, go for the road trip to ct and pick one up

 

Raptor = supercab. Platinum = Crewcab

 

Raptor. It will hold it's value better too.

 

The platinum is made for those who want to be able to tell their buddys that they own a "truck" too.

It's only gay compared to the Raptor.

Since the OP likes the off-road look, just check out the step rails on the Platinum. I think a Mustang has more ground clearance. They put those steps on there so owners can get into the truck with their skirts on.

 

I saw a new platinum on the road yesterday and I didn’t like it. I saw a Raptor in Austin while cruising my chopper and rode next to it for a few miles and that is one awesome truck. It looks good from every angle. If I had the $ I would love to be one of the first ones to straight axle that front end, weld up some body protection, put in a cage and be the only guy on some hardcore rock trails with a $45000 truck!!!!! I know it is made for the desert but I live in Texas, dunes are few and far between.
