FFA Truck & Tractor Drivin' Competition
Tomorrow's the big day, local Federation level FFA Truck and Tractor Drivin' Contest. I love driving trucks and tractors and tomorrow I get to show how good I am. My school will be competing against last year's national tractor driving winning school at the local level. I'm glad that driver can't compete!!! But I'm gonna do my best, I really want to win! Next year will be the last year I can compete. But the bad thing is, that the "official truck" for the contest is a S-10 (not my first choice, being I'm 6'6"). But on the tractor side I should be pretty good, they'll be using a John Deere 5205 4x4 Synchronized shifter, familiar territory. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Last year I placed 5th out of 15 in tractor and I was too young to do truck. I'm ready to do it and I wanted to share this with my "extended family" here.

Congrats ! Don't know much about all their activities,
but the FFA seems to be a great organization---My uncle &
cousin in Illinois both got the "American Farmer". The new
national headquarters is about 10 miles from me---pass it
everyday going to & from work. I was raised in the city,
but most of my best memories are from the country & visits to
the farms... ( and the old farm cars & trucks )
Keep up the good work ! J.R.
