I've got a late block but am hoping to aquire a set of early heads. Along with intake, carb, and headers, what size cam should i go with. I'm basing my idea off the Edelbrock Power Package(469hp). Can I get 500hp out of my setup? If not what more would I have to do?
Thanks,
Andy

Wasn't the Edelbrock Power Package rated with aluminum heads?

Fully ported DOVEs will flow about the same as out of the box edelbrock heads.

I checked out your build sheet on the 500hp 460. are those actual power numbers or estimated?

An old estimate before going to edelbrock heads and crankcase evac system. Somebody ran it for me on one of the pro simulation software packages and said 550hp. It's in the truck and I hope to fire it in the next week or so and then I'll have it chassis dyno'd. I'm after 400hp at the rear wheels.

I'd be anxious to see what you come up with. Keep us posted of your results. If you do in fact make 400 at the wheels, I'll probably base my build off of your setup.
