I have a 1977 F250 my parents bought new, my father had the trans rebuilt and then the motor rebuilt just a couple of years before he passed. I am now the owner and putting it back together, I will post it when I get her painted again.

New member and a new owner of a 73 scs. The body is in great shape but the interior is rough. The last owner parked it 4 years because it would not pass emissions. It has a newer engine but unsure of milage. 360 with a 4 speed. Picked it up for $500! There is more photos in my album.

Here is my 1973 f350 super camper special. I have owned it for going on 9 years and am starting a refresh on it with new wheels and tires...and more to come.

This may be a dumb question but is the wheelbase longer on a camper special? The wheels look closer to the rear of the box than usual.

Yea the wheel base is something like 140". I'm not sure how long the standard long bed wheel base is. Hopefully someone will chime in and tell us.

Yes, 140" wheelbase. F100, F150, F250 regular cab longbeds of the generation were 133".

I came across a side mounted spare tire carrier/door off of a 1974 F350 and simply thought it was the coolest thing. Anyone that has battled with the underside mounted spare tire carrier will most likely sympathize. With that said, anyone ever tried to retrofit the side spare tire carrier on either a 1967-1972 truck or on a non-Super Camper Special in a 1973-1979 generation truck. Can this be done? Let me know if anyone is interested in the panel door and spare tire carrier (I removed the entire spare tire carrier assembly, including the part that is attached to the frame).
