Lightbulb Something to consider related to our chapter.

Since there is currently a nomination on going for a new Chapter Leader, I read in that thread the expectations guide of the new leader and this caught my eye.<O</O
<O</O

4. Meets & Gatherings: For Chapters with membership "pockets" or large geographical areas, "Districts" or "Divisions" may be created within the Chapter to facilitate gatherings or events.<O</O
<O</O

This could work for our chapter especially considering the size and the pockets of members that are geographically dispersed around the state.<O</O
<O</O

If the option passes then we would have to think of a method to create Districts and that’s where we would need the support of the new Chapter Leader and Moderators.

If it passes then the districts could be formed by gathering a collection of regions into a singe district and say have three or four districts.
Texas by Regions
Please VOTE here on this thread if you think that this is a good option or is not a good option.<O</O
<O</O

Please start your post with a vote of ----Yea or Nea

I think it would be a great idea. It would not be so bad to have meet and greets also.

I vote yes. That is something I was thinking about. For instance I would like to do some get togthers but it's hard for me to drive to Austin for this. If we were to make districts like west Texas distrect and so on it would be alot eaiser to get with people more local. And then if you were going to be in anouther distrect then you could get with people in that area.

YEA

Thanks Robert and Scotty for your support
I think it could give our Texas Chapter new life. We could even have district meets between bordering 2 or 3 districts. We would need a Map of the districts.

Yeah I was saying the same thing a few years ago when the southwest chapter was really hopping. I would like to see that here. Where people really get to know each other.

It looks like you are going to be a major part in helping that happen. Looking forward to it. Glad to be a part of it.

Undecided. Do we really have enough traffic in the Texas section to divide our-self up in smaller groups? If there's a Houston get together, post it for all to see in case any one gets a wild hair and decides, why not? Otherwise just the local Houston folks will answer.

I would not object to a houston Gather. Or we could choose a location maybe between others to split a drive a bit.

I've seen the Houston guys talk about a get together before. I've met a few guys here from Houston, and a few from the DFW area. The only type of meet I've been too has been at the North Texas Powerstoke Assoc. They have a family themed rally every year, and several meets during the year.

Talking

FAMILY THEMED, I get on here to get away from the family
It would be nice to start a thread for a get together and set it for about a month away and get a head count of who would make it and then set a place for everyone to agree on. And we could BBQ throw a few down(for those who drink)

We should probably hold off planning anything until we have a new official chapter leader. Maybe he can send out a flash messge to all Texas Chapter members to get more input or participation.

Hey guys, check out some of the other chapters. They have set up a Google map for members to place their location on the map. This is great to help with planning a meet or G2G.

Here are a few for you to look over:
