Spicer 24 Transfer Case Yoke Re-installation
Guys,
Is there a torque spec or installation method that the nuts need to be installed to when re-installing the yokes on my transfer case? I removed all three to replace the leaky seals. They all take a cotter pin which leads me to believe it is more like setting the lash on a wheel bearing. I couldn't find a procedure just for the transfer case. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Anybody ever replace their transfer case seals?...
Guys,
I've gone through my manuals and found some info on other Spicer transfer cases. 250 ft/lbs seems pretty excessive for something that has a cotter pin to keep it from coming off. Other versions but be set up with a crush sleave like some rear axles.
Anyone out there have info on the Spicer 24's?
Thanks,
Nick

Hope it helps on the 205 t case you take the backlash out of the gears by tightening the yoke nuts draws the yoke tight against the output shaft bearing and draws the gears right on the backside of the bearing so there's no in/out play. The Dana t case should be close to the same design. Is your 59 f100 an original marmon Herrington or did you or previous owner swap it to a 4x4 down the line sometime?
