Its like I posted on your facebook man, any jackass can buy a nice old car/truck, and pretend to be an enthusiast, but the true enthusiast is the guy that gets dirty working on his own stuff.
Seems like alot (no not all but alot) of the draggins guys I talk to either buy their vehicles all fixed up, or just pay someone else to fix them up, then show it off as their own,

Some of what you say is true there Preppy. But I been to their club house a few times. Some actually do the work. One fella I know is meticulus about the detail stuff. Like painting the hardware for window regulators, hinges, wiper motors. He tears those down and rebuilds them in a trade off for other work. He has one do his metal patches and another do his painting. So a lot of them barter their work.
Yes some of the barter is not car related. Someone may barter to have new plumbing in their home done for work on their vehicles.
Yes there are several that buy the car done up and show it off. They think paying someone to fix or modify makes them enthusiasts.
I like to do my own work. Others rather pay since they got the money.
