The vibration has gone away,but I haven't towed with it yet.I'll let you know tonight what happens.

i have a question i just put a new carrier bearing in my dads truck today and i put it together just like in the pictures but the metal clamp has a arrow that suppose to face forward but it faces to the rear axle???? it came out of the box with a metal tap holding the two together can i just cut it off and flip the bracket or did i put it in backwards??

I replaced my carrier bearing when I did my trans rebuild not too long ago. I had a torch, but used a different method that those who don't have one might try. I did, however, use a 4'' angle grinder. I removed the hanger bracket and cut the rubber like Brad said. I them use a hammer to crack the outer race and remove the ball bearings and cage. I cut a groove in the inner race with the angle grinder and then split the race with a hammer and large chisel. Be sure and wear eye proection with this method. There may be flying parts!

do you see the bracket in beanheads pic guys? the bracket in the box i got from the dealer does not look like the stock piece, its just a horseshoe and doesnt have the extra lip in the pic facing up. i should just takle a pic of it installed and let yous see what im talking about
Did you get your carrier bearing from a dealer or parts store?
Guys Roland has a good way to remove the bearing or if you can get a three arm puller that would work also.I was a field mechanic for ten years,using the heat wrench is a habbit of mine.
