Front Drive Shaft Removal on 2000 4wd Ranger

Trying to get the front drive shaft out of my 2000 Ford Ranger. The shaft/ front axle connection was a snap with a couple of straps over the u-joint. However I haven't seen a connection like the shaft/transfer case and am unsure how to remove it correctly. It looks like a large round solid coupler with the only exposed bolts being (8) 8mm bolts going front to back. I can't find any information on it and my Hayes book is worthless in this aspect.

Yeah, its those bolts! Had mine out today doing a transmission swap. The front ones are the ones that suck because you cannot get a socket or end wrench on it...and have to use the #30 torques(sp). They seem to like to get stuck/messed up.
