If I was closer I would give you a hand... what type of problems are you having and are you talking under the hood electrical, interior or lighting problems?

i am having lighting trouble mostly. out of all the fueses in the box under the dash only 2 have power to them and the only thing that does not work is the break light. so i just cant figure out how everything else is working. and it seems to be mostly stock wiring and not all hacked up.

Check the grounds..........In older trucks, they are very suspect.

Check your emergency flashers, if they don't work either there is a fuse in the box that operates both. Bottom right fuse if I remember correctly, but should be labeled. Mine on my 76 was very corroded, had to scrape the contacts clean to get it to work.

On the old trucks the majority of lighting goes through the headlight switch... hence the reason it fails so often... to much power goes through it.

As for the brake lights check the fuse as previously stated, take some light sand paper and clean the fuse contacts while your at it. On these older trucks the tail light grounds come off the body so it is very important that the engine to body ground strap is clean and connected properly.

"the only thing that don't work is the brake lights"

Brake light switch is on the brake peddle under the dash. Prone to failure........ Should have power to one side if the fuse and wiring is ok. If there is power at the switch and the switch itself works the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch. Another common problem.
