What turned you into a FORD FAN?
So here is my story. When I was a kid(not that long I'm only going to turn 34 on Sunday). I became a Fan of Ford because of the truck my father bought. It was his pride and joy until my grandfather got it in the eighties, then it was his pride and joy to put it mildly. He treated his truck better than his wife. That truck was the sole reason I have NEVER EVER bought anything other than FORD. So tell your stories here. I bet there are going to be some Great ones!

family
Pretty much my whole family have been Ford people. My grandfather drives an early 90's F150, my uncle always drove Fords, pretty much all pickups, he also had a sweet 68 AMC AMX, my mom drove a Galaxy 500, and various other Ford or Mercury, and my first vehicle was a 75 F150, and then a 90 Ford Ranger, then an 89 F150, a Ford Probe, and most recent, a 78 F250 4x4. I turn 35 in June so we're not that far apart in age.

Born and raised! I came home (January 1978) in a 1973 F100 Custom.
After that my dad bought a brand new 1984 F150 flareside.
Even though I would say my dad isn't brand loyal. His first vehicle was a Chevy truck after all, but he has had a 72 Ford Maverick, a Ford Pinto, and a Ford Taurus.
Now he has a his 1986 Jeep CJ7 (since new) a 2003 Dodge Ram and a *$%#@! Chevy Trailblazer.
I have had my 1974 F100 since I was 15, or April 1993. 2nd owner!

Strictly economic. Ford builds some really cool stuff that the common man can afford. The current generation Mustang for example. It carries over to the collector car market. I have a really cool big block car that was one of 56 built. If it was a Mopar or Chev. it would have been 6 figures. I was able to buy it for under $20K.
Same thing with my Dent. Its a cool truck. I got it at a reasonable price and have been able to afford the modifications I wanted to make.

Same thing with Josh.
I was brought home for the first time in a '77 F-350 Custom.(I was born in the Summer of '94)
I remember riding in that truck at about the age of 1 (in a car seat) and the light from the street lighting up the inside of the cab late at night when me and my dad were drivin' around. That truck was a 1-Ton dually Factory Cab & Chassis with a Stake Bed and it had a brown dashpad. (which wasn't cracked) Had a Brown seat.
In fact come to think about it, me and my dad were driving down a street after we had done a delivery to a near by house and he slams the brakes and shouts, "That '77 F-350 was like that truck right there!" Then points out the window. I jump out and go look at it, anyways long story short, That was on December 31st 2006, We bought the truck.
I've always loved 1 ton+ trucks. Haven't ever been able to figure out why, Maybe that's why?

Believe it or not it was a free 1987 Bronco II that my dad got from a co-worker. Since then we've had 3 Bronco IIs (still have mine), 3 Rangers (dad got a 1990 a week ago), a 1978 F-250 (week ago) a 1993 Bronco (current DD for me), a 1971 Pinto (first car, fun as hell) and will have a 1978 or 79 Bronco XLT Lariat (freebie for putting rockers on a guy's Scout!)
My name is Ben and I'm a Fordahoulic. I used to be a Chevy kid (would still kill for a 1956 Bel Air, my favorite car of ALL time) but now I love my Fords...lol

My grandfather was a ford mechanic and owned nothing but fords. He gave his grandsons (including me) a different steel model ford tractor every year for christmas. His pride and joy was his ford diesel 4wd tractor, which we still have (and still runs like a champ, despite being 40 years old). My older brother's first car was a ford mustang. My first car was a ford escort. My two younger brothers both had F150's, a 79 explorer and an 88 custom.
My dad used to own ford vans but he switched to GM products after he was hit head on in a ford aerostar and the engine broke through the firewall and landed at his right elbow on the passenger seat.
My older brother is still a sole ford man and I guess he has kept the fever alive. He has a wicked built thunderbird with a 2.3 turbo thats making 350-400 hp and a 91 diesel that is highly modified and turbocharged.
My younger redneck brother is building an F350 mud truck, to follow his 70 something bronco and his 79 explorer F150.
I personally really don't have much against chevies but if I could choose between a GM and a ford I'd get the ford every time. I'm not sure I have a good reason. Just part of growing up in a ford household.
And I want to say, too, that I rented a new bodystyle mustang v6 and was really impressed with the quality of the interior and just now nicely it drove. It felt really solid and well built. And the new focuses are really good values, too. If I was in the market for a small car I'd be between nissan and ford. Old nissan's are another vice of mine... I've owned 5 240sx's.

I come from a mostly Ford family. When I turned 16 in 1983 (man, I'm old!), the choices in the driveway were a 78 LTD and a 75 F250 Highboy. Dad bought that truck brand new, and I loved it from the day he brought it home from the dealer. It took a beating from him and my two older sisters learning to drive in it, but I chose to drive it over the car any chance I got.
I didn't get to keep that old truck (dad wouldn't give it up!). About 10 years later after driving GM econoboxes, I finally bought my first dentside. I've had several since then, most of them in not-so-great shape. My current dent is my dream truck that I finally was able to get about a year and half ago.
