I have a 2007 Expedition EL Limited. I was cleaning out the back end today and noticed a rectangular shaped hole in the interior trim of the liftgate. It is on the bottom, right in the middle, below the pull strap. It looks like there should be a cover of some kind there.
Can anyone take a look at theirs and tell me if I am missing a cover, or if the hole is supposed to be there.
You are missing the cover, mine fell out too. It is just held in by little plastic tabs.. Luckily I found mine in the trunk and I will just glue it on for the lease return.
On the 07 we used to have, it was missing. It did not bother me too much as we had the power liftgate and I just tucked the pull strap into it like it was meant to go there. Our "new" EL that we just got to replace the last one has the cover. I did think about getting a replacement for our last one, but never got around to it.
