I am trying to install a Navigator steering wheel on my 97 EB Expy. The audio controls on the Nav SW are not important to me, but I would like to use the cruise control. Help!!!
Do you not like the cruise controls on the Expy steering wheel, or are they broken? I have never looked at the Navigator steering wheels but would imagine the electrical connectors are different, but that's just a guess.
Wish I could help but I too would like to replace my wheel so I'll just jump back and look for the reponces. My donor of choice is the lightning for it's very nice leather wraped wheel. My reason is the "stock" wheel in my Expy is not as nice.
The navigator wheel is very nice in my opinion, it is leather wrapped with wood trim. The electrical connectors are different between the Nav and Expy. Not sure if the reason is a model difference or year difference though. I want to be able to use my horn, the cruise control and the airbag (hopefully I won't need it). The Nav SW also comes with audio controls, but those wouldn't work with my after-market stereo.
Not yet, I have some schematics for the Nav and the Expy wheels, but I am still working on matching up wires on paper. I hate to pay $400 for the Expy version of the same wheel.
$400 is a bargain...think about how much your time to make this other wheel work is worth. AS an FYI to upgrade my leather wheel in my Lexus to wood is over $2k (....no, I did not do it)
