Who can afford a new pickup?!!!

It would be great to buy a new pickup, (around these parts trucks have 18 wheels and are meant to do serious hauling), but who in their right mind is going to spend 30,000 plus on a glorified car! These new "trucks" rarely haul more than a case of beer any more and don't see a muddy road. So you can just keep them. I'll keep driving my 1991 F-150 six banger.

(Venting because can't afford new pickup and jealous of those who can) Happy trails.

I'm kinda like you, I'm not paying $30,000 for any vehicle. I wouldn't pay that for a Lincoln, Caddy, Etc. Guess I'm lucky cause trucks especially don't cost that much here. In the San Antonio Express-News, which covers the area where I live, there are listed many 2003 NEW trucks around the $20,000 area. One dealer has 03 Sc, 4.2,XLT for $18,895, also a Texas Supercrew for $21,995, and Rangers with V-6's,auto,SC Edge for 13,995. And those are pretty much representative of the pricing around here. But when it gets to $30,000-I'm out.

20,000 x 8% apr x 5 years = 25000. I guess it's not 30000, just 25000. Well, I must go to the local Ford dealer immediately!!

I would have paid cash, but Ford was falling all over themselves with their 0% financing. So, why not. That money is still earning interest, I have the truck, purchase price = purchase price. What a deal. 8%??? What highway robber is offering that?

Who can afford a new pickup?!!!

yo,

If I had a few more bucks (like $20k.) I'd go for this one here in NJ:
2003 F-150 Regular Cab 4X2 Styleside 8' - XL
4.2L EFI V6 / 4-Spd Auto w/ O/D
Ext: Arizona Beige Met / Int: Med Parchment
VIN: 2FTRF17243CA10837 - See Vehicle Details
Total MSRP: $20,850.00
Total Invoice: $18,777.00
...
less:
3,000 Customer Cash Back
and a dealer discount of about $1k.

My son bought his 97 F 150 4x4 from this dealer and they don't add on uc, pin stripes, or extra clerical and detailing "fees".

Who can afford a new pickup?!!!

I bought mine new in Feb.2002 Some might argue that it is not e "real" truck because it is a Ranger but it does all I need it to. I originally financed it for 4 years but, I sent the final payment in in December 2002. The purchase price was just over $9000.00
Granted it can't tow or carry a hell of a lot but it works for me.

Who can afford a new pickup?!!!

I figured I would take my big purchases one at a time. I live on my parents property so I have very low rent. Bought my four wheeler then my truck then my fiver. Next is a house, in a few years when I pay off the truck and trailer. I have no girl freind and no kids at this point. That is the only reson I can afford a brand new truck.

well 11 hours a day at work helps to pay the bills too.

Who can afford a new pickup?!!!

hey man, rangers are good little work trucks

mine has impressed me the last few months while i'm helping my pa build two cabins and a house on his new land.

25 cynder blocks and 500 pounds of concrete is pretty good for the low end ranger i got =) that and where the buildsite is a Fseries wouldnt fit. there are two very large trees that brush my mirrors when i get back there

Ford seem to think they have gold mines, you can get better deals with chevy or dodges.
