It's pretty faded now with some blemishes and minor scratches so it's a perfect driver, in my eyes anyway. I'm gonna replace the goofy fender mounted signal lights if I ever find something suitable. I might put an exhaust on it with a little rumble but other than that it stays the way it is. My grandfather taught me to drive when I was age 10 with a red `49 F47 with black fenders just like my truck. I started out bombing around the fields then graduated to driving on the road. He used to let me drive till we got almost to town then he'd take over. It's so nostalgic for me that when I look at my `50 I always think of the line in the movie Field of Dreams where James Earl Jones talks about how people will come to the ball field. He says ' the memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces'.

Where in Ontario are you situated , I'm way up in the northwest..

Just about finished now. A few small items should finish it off.

Dave, that is a good looking truck. One of the best looking "patina" trucks I have seen. Enjoy!

Rats! had to pull the tranny. Either the tranny shop screwed up the rebuild or I screwed up something installing it but it lost reverse with only about 5 miles on it. Going to replace the steering box while I'm at it. Borgeson makes an aftermarket steering box for the Volare type IFS systems that is supposed to be a lot better than oem (pn 800127) but that isn't saying much because the oem is pretty s

loppy.
