Lets see your truck RIGHT now
#2809
Finally got it running and registered, a little engine over heat had to ageist the timing and replace the fans with higher cfm, didn't test it yet with the AC I hope I don't have to change the fans
The engine is 429ci with a c6 trany and 8,8inch rear end, any body knows how to improve the rear end? It's making a humming sound when I left my foot off the gas

Hey Bader,
Post a video - would love to hear what your truck sounds like!
We live in Texas ... probably pretty similar temperatures to Bahrain.
We had some overheating problems & switched our fan out for a Mark VIII
fan from a v8 Thunderbird (but a lot of V8 fords had them). You can find them on Ebay.
Hopefully you won't need it but if you do...
Looking good in Bahrain!

State Inspection
I registered my '53 f100 for the first time in 14 years. I'm hoping that in about two weeks I'll be road testing it. Then I'll have to get it inspected. I read through the Vermont inspection standards and did not find any slack when it comes to license plate visibility. As I read the inspection standards, I could take my truck in without the rear bumper and it would pass, because the base model truck did not have a bumper. Without the bumper, the stock location of the license under the driver side tail light is okay. Theoretically it would pass. But, without the bumper there may be a problem having to do with the rear tires being able to toss stuff back onto a following vehicle. I believe I would need some sort of mud flaps. With the bumper on, it looks like I could show that mud flaps would not be necessary, but a good portion of the license is blocked from view. It is my understanding that if the truck was bought back in 1953 with the bumper option, then the setup would be exactly as I have it right now; plate visibility is partially blocked by the bumper. Every now and then, I read a post where this topic comes up. How have others dealt with state inspections on these old trucks? I am considering mounting my plate on the bumper. I will have to figure out a way to illuminate it. Back when the truck was my daily driver, I never had any problem with inspections, but it seems that these days every thing is more complicated.

Thanks guys
Abe I agree with you it is the best truck in Bahrain, every where I go people taking pictures.
Gigger I did open the diff and didn't find any ubnormal wear or metal, so I'm thinking it might be the oil, I'll take it to a work shop and see what they say.
Ben I stayed in SanAntonio for almost a year and it is hot like Bahrain, I'm currently trying to install Mercedes Benz 22" fan I'll post a video when I'm done
This is the truck befor shipping it to Bahrain

After five years of no time to work on my 49F1 I got to work on it this summer. The 302 is getting ready to pull back out and get ready so I can rebuild it and send the c4 to the tranny shop. I got the steering column in and brake booster mounted. I have also started to run the brake lines. I have gone through the 9 inch with complete new brakes on it too.

Hey Bader,
When we went through our truck to get it to run cooler in Texas we looked at everything.
I think every little improvement you can make to air flow, water flow, etc. helps.
o Make sure you have all the pieces that block air flow up in front of the radiator & funnel the
air through the radiator. There are sheet metal pieces on the sides & below the radiator.
o Look at your radiator hoses. Your's look a little smaller than our's - not sure I've seen one
reduce in diameter to attach to the radiator.
o We are using an 18 inch 2 speed fan that runs over 4,000 cfm on high.
o To run the bigger fans you will want to make sure you have the
larger alternator.
o Check the timing of your engine.
o We tried several different thermostats - not sure it matters too much.
We are running a 180 degree thermostat.
o There are (2) different types of water pumps - the standard one & the high efficiency,
high flow model. They pretty much look the same but one flows more water.
Good luck over there in Bahrain!

Hey Tracy,
Your cab looks great! That's the most time consuming part ...
it's all downhill from here! You'll like that 302 - I kind of wish we had stayed with
the 289 that came in our's. We were swayed by HP & ended up with a more hot
rod 400hp 351W set up. I think a nice cruising 302 would be about perfect!
Looking good in Tennessee!
