Yes DW's truck is sweet. Except for being in the weeds and no Monkey face.
And wheels would have to go. What happened to a set of Cragers, Slots,
or even some moons and rings. Some updates just don't work on these old rides.
At least not for me. A 50's sled should look 50's. Not 2000's. Just ain't right.
Get a Civic and do the mods. I got one. My Civic will always be butt ugly.
Still I love the color of her. (Your truck) Looks sweet an could be so much more.
But hey each to his own. Right?
Really to me I want your body on a near stock 50. That would be sweet.

Hey All,
Appreciate the comments. Surprised by the polarized comments about the wheels or even stance, but I suppose I could care less. I like them A LOT and to each their own... my goal is a well - powered, reliable, comfortable, nice riding and reasonable handling vehicle that I can drive a few times a week without special concessions. My kids love riding to school in it when it is my turn to take them
I'm at the final stages of this build. The truck is in for upholstery after a last push by me in terms of fabrication. I widened (5") and stretched the back (3") of its Dodge caravan bench seat and then built modular horse-shoe shaped skirts out of Aluminum (had to dust off the TIG to weld it together) to close off the slider mechanism. Tried to post pictures of the skirts, but the photo size may be too big...or it is just fickle today. wouldn't accept any of my photos.
I also installed an amp, powered sub and component speakers to add some tunes.
Color scheme will be tan square weave (like in an old 356 Porsche or VW) with carmel-ish colored leather on the seat and door panels. Perhaps some won't like my taste there, either. No worries.
Cheers,
Doug

Curious about the two pipes that look like they are coming out of the cab. Are they a roll bar? My father was a front end person and he always hated those rubber band tires, (as he called them). It is like you say they are your choice and that is what counts. Watch out for the chuck holes and rough roads, they are the rim repair guys best friend, my father made quite a good living once those wheel and tire combo came out.
