I think he was suggesting losing the block altogether and then using the add-a-leaves to level it.
i tried to look for lowering blocks but my computation machine is being redonkulous, and giving me problems. maybe check the local welding/machine/fabrication shop, might be able to cut em down. what's the deal? getting pissed about the"i'm made to tow and work" stance of ford trucks?
an add a leaf won't do much more than 2- 2.5, and is not a solution to any thing other than a lack of funds. if you want to get the factory block out of the picture you can try to find custom springs for mucho$ or use 4 inch lift springs and you're back to stock. havent seen any 3 inch rear springs
check broncograveyard.com. 2.5-3" add-a-leafs from superlift. i know they work because my uncle has them for his 91 250 and i just ordered some for my 150. and my uncle hauls a loaded horse trailer...with blocks the *** end sagged like crazy, after he got the leafs, no problems even with the fully loaded gooseneck
i'm not talking about load leveling. add a leafs are a cheap *** way to fix a problem, are they better than blocks? no, i'd like to think the engineers at ford put a block there for a reason. is it better than stacked blocks? yes. and that's why they come with cheap lift kits.
This is my truck. The rear end is higher than the front by about an inch or inch and a half. Right now i have a 4" flat block with a 1/4 to 1/2 " wedge for pinion angle. If i can find someone who has an extra set of stock tapered 3" blocks and wants to sell them for $20 or wants to trade for my blocks..... the backend will be level and problem solved.
