Big plans for the new guy!!!

Howedy
I picked up a 1960 f100 about a year ago with a 302 FMX in it and had little plans to do much els except the disc and power brake conversion which i did the first weekend then drive the hell outa it. unfortunately i got to reading some of the forums in here and you guys threw my plans into a whole new world.

I work as a mechanic for a local city south of houston and I have very easy access to retired police Interseptors well I found a deal i couldnt refuse last week and got a running driving 03 Vic that was lightly wrecked in the front, most of you prolly see were this is going

Ive read threw most of the front end conversion thread but i figure since i got the whole car i may as well use the whole car so its going to get the front end, the 4.6 and tranny and the 8.8 rear end which im prolly going to 2 link and possibly bag all 4 corners to a get a lil more of a drop while im parked at the shows. plans are to get the front end and motor in and running in a few months, then ill prolly drive it for a short time before i kick off the rear end swap, oh and chopping a few outa the top.

heres a few pics of "AnnaBelle" as she sits now and a photochop i did for insperation on the last one

That's a very nice truck as it sits and I like your vision for it. Be nice to see once you're done.

One thing I forgot to mention, if you go ahead with the chop top do lots of planning before you start cutting and start by cutting the glass first and fitting the rest to fit it. Search the threads on here as there has been lots of controversy on this subject. I would hate to hear you started and then got frustrated and walking away from it.

yea im still not %100 on the chop yet, i know its alot of work with the 58-60s and have heard alot of horror stories. the Truck is in really good shape but these pics make it look alot better than it is up close, the guy before me painted it in his garage and theres alot of clear chipping off and runs but atleast he sealed it up and stopped it from rusting which was my main concern. im gona have to do the inner cab corners and floor pans but nothing major. ill try to keep an update on everything

and yea i got some more pics of the bike ill post em up when i get home from work. its called a CJ750, which is a chinese replica using the old tooling from the German WWII BMW R71, its a 1970 with 6 volt and kick only, it gets more attintion then the truck does most of the time.

I would say, leave the old girl as she is, looks to be a pretty sweet truck that you can show off as a daily driver.

shes been my daily driver for about a year now but i just got my trans am ready to roll again so I felt it time to give this one a lil well deserved attention. it will go back to being a daily driver again and thats the main reason for my plans, id like the luxery of IFS, fuel injection, and A/C but still be able to drive a classic everyday.

Nice looking truck, both as is and how you're planning to go with it.

Remember chopping a wrap around window is harder than the other years, it's do-able, as seen above, but before you cut ANYTHING research the crap out of it, it could be a project killer if you don't. It's been shown how to do it on here, obviously Keith has achieved it with great sucess, it's just a lot more work than chopping some of the older trucks.

To each his own, I prefer the original bits and pieces, especially the engine.

EDIT: Never mind already had its original bits taken out so go for it.

well ive been hard at work on the vision, ive got the entire front clip off the the truck motor and trans are out, front suspension came out this weekend, and got the bottom of the frame straightend out with the tubes welded in for the CV front end. everything measered out perfect left to right front to back. ill be taking the suspension back out tommorow to start on the templets to box the frame and cleaning the firewall up for paint next weekend. I ended up shifting the new axle center line about 3/4" forward in order to make clearance for the 4.6 without having to modify the firewall but i mocked it up with the fenders on and you can hardly tell, if anything i actually like the look a lil better. ill try to post up some pics of the build tommorow
