Welcome to the chapter.
I could see where with the stacks that low they could be very loud and annoying. If they were, say, another foot taller, the noise would be above the cab.

Hot dang...got a new member from my neck of the woods Welcome to the chapter Jimmy, my father-in-law lives on Broadway south of the post office there in town.

Straight pipes are alright for a little while, but then they get on your nerves and the nerves of your neighbors (in my case). When I first got my Ranchero, it had Cherry Bombs on it. I asked my neighbor one day if it was waking them up in the mornings (I went it at 0600)...he said no, but commented that he knew when I was leaving for work. I took that as a hint that he'd be happy if the cruck got a little quieter. Of course I say all this, and used to drive a straight pipe T800 with a C12 under the hood. It wasn't the biggest motor out there...but it sure sounded like it.
