I just posted in the 2009 and newer F150 forum, I bet that it will get the 6.2. Mainly because the Raptor and Super Duty use different camshafts. There is no way, Ford would keep a camshaft dedicated to a low volume model. Since nothing else uses that engine, Ford could have just put in the Super Duty spec 6.2 in the Raptor and gave it a little more power. So, I say count on it.

I have seen production numbers for the 5.4 and the 6.2 engines. The 5.4 really takes a drop after July 2010 and the 6.2 starts to increase production towards the 2011 build for the F150. You can read that as you see fit. There are several F150's running 6.2 engines for test and the parts are very "production" looking. The only F150 that will probably not get the 6.2 is regular cab 4x2. I have seen a few 6.2 extended cab 4x4 F150's out and about. The 5.0 production will start ramp up in August for 2011 production. I would expect the 5.0 in a 4x2 regular cab and probably everything else.

Is Ford listening? Are we all dreaming? The V-10 is gone, it makes sense to stop production of the 8 cyl. Modular motor. EB and 5.0 aren't enough to tow anything near the rated capacity of the F-150. Remember, there is no substitute for cubic inches. They, and us, need the 6.2 to keep up with the crowd. I really don't want a truck from Gov't Motor Co., either one!! And I don't need a Super Duty any more.

You've got the engines right but the order wrong. The Ecoboost engine will be the premium engine and marketed as the tow horse to replace the 5.4

Thats to bad. Hopefully they will get it in there in the next 2-3 years. Im in need of a truck now, but will probably wait. I suppose a 6.2l Raptor Screw with air bag assist for the rear leafs wouldnt be all that bad at towing. Haha.
I dont know if i could live with a v6 under the hood. Guess i would have to drive one to get a true opinion. And i think the 5.0 is an awwsome motor. But i dont think its going to have the grunt to do the towing.
