An engine that makes MORE hp and MORE torque and you're concerned that it won't have enough grunt?

Just get a Superduty with the 6.2 and be done with it

Does it make as much power down low? Im thinking it will make power higher in the rev range. I have seen the 5.0 torque curve and its pretty flat, but i didnt notice where it starts to pull at. I do know the mustang pulls well to 7k though.

Are there any official numbers out on 5.0 in the F-150?

Well i dont tow nearly enough to justify the cost of that truck. And maintence on a 3/4 ton compared to a half ton is nutz in terms of parts. Tires/Brakes/suspension.

Plus I like the appeal of a lighter truck with some getup and go on the highway. Enough to have fun in.

I just orderd a 2011 Mustang GT, so that will satisfy my need for speed.

But i want a strong truck that will pull 6k without any issues. My 99 does a great job with 6k, but id like a few more ponys, hence im wanting a 6.2l.

Is the Raptor 6.2 that much cheaper than an XLT Superduty? Or would you go Lariat?

I built a loaded 6.2l Raptor for 44k the other day on ford.com. And the raptor is going to be faster all around than a superduty. Which is what i want something quick. I drove a 6.2l superduty a couple weeks ago and it was nice.

I would say a 250 that i would want would be near 50k. But thats just a guess. Regardless i dont want to deal with the expence of owning a heavy duty truck.

Personally, I don't think there's one single thing that is more $'s on a gas-engine Superduty than a F150, especially the Rapto. Which, I bet FIRST is a one-off sort of truck, low-volume. Imagine buying parts for that. Are the brakes any different than the "standard" F150? Air filter? You get the idea.

Lol so your saying that there is a difference in diesel and gas superdutys other than the engine?... I dont think so.

And it being a low volume truck is okay with me. Regardless i dont want a superduty. And the 6.2l i drove had a hard time getting 14mpg at 55 mph on flat land.

Im looking for a bit more mpg. I really not interested in a 3/4 truck. Its over kill, and yes, brakes, tires, u joints, ball joints, shocks, all cost more.

Not to belabor the point, but compared to the Raptor, I bet it's not as far off as you think. But anyway

I read in the Myford magazine yesterday that they did mention the 6.2L in the F150. They also mentioned the 3.7 and the 5.0.
