Anyone ever add shims to their injectors to get higher pop off pressures? Wondered if you have and could notice any difference in performance afterwards.

I have had a few of mine apart in the past and some are shimmed from the factory to get the right pop off pressure. Wondered what adding a washer or two to each injector might do for performance.

 

You have to have a pop tester and keep the spray pattern. You can get them set for higher pressure if you want.

 

Pop pressure to high is going to be very hard on the IP.

And as thick as most washers are, you are going to have a rather large pressure increase.

 

Could care less about bench testing the things...or blowing up my IP either. I got a complete spare engine. And I know a local guy with about 20 used IP's and can get them at about $50 a pop.

I just really want to know if someone has done this and felt that it had a positive impact on power or response.
