Is it a bad temp Sensor or?

Is it a bad temp Sensor or?

So my dang temp gage is reading nothing then it will just come alive and slowly go back up to normal then just go back to zero?
Do I need a new temp sensor or could it be some thing els?

Have you checked the radiator. It could be a bad connection on the sending unit.

I didnt know where to look so it on the radiator is it on the bottom?

HMMM I dont see any thing that looks like a sensor on the radiator? but I do see some kind of sensor by the oil cape?
Where is the temp sensor or the sending unit located???

Front of the drivers side head, under the AC compressor.

Try unplugging the wire then plugging it back in.

Yes it is the drivers side, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I typed a reply but must have hit back. The radiator that I was I was talking about checking your coolant sorry.

I found it driver side under the power steering pump and it was loose!!!
It will be fixed by tomorrow after noon! Thanks Guys!

Every time I think I need to go to the store and get parts its just loose or a easy fix with this truck! knock on wood!

One more for ya it did go past the N on normal today and it was cold out and I did climb a hill! Is that ok?

Are you talking about the wire was hanging behind the pump. The temp sensor should be by the front left corner of the right head in the top of the block. looking at from the front. If you ground the wire out the guage should go all the wat to hot.

Behind the A/C pump just like the pic I have a alligator clip clamped on to some small threads coming out of thr temp sensor and it was loose the alligator clip lost its bite!
So you say if I ground it out it will go red hot on the gage!

yes it will peg the guage when grounded if the guage is working.
