Help with Speedometer?

Hello, I have been wanting to hook up my stock 1951 speedometer to my 1989 M5R2 transmission, but I am having a terrible time figuring it out.

Here is the ID info.

Here are photos of the connections?

Everything that I have read indicates that it is a mechanical speedometer connection, but all I see are plugs.

Thanks, Steve

I am no transmission guy, but it looks like you may be able undo the retaining clamp on the sender with the blue plug and remove/replace the unit with a regular gear and cable. I am sure a more knowledgable guy will come along soon.
