Vibration? 1. Check to make sure the drive shaft is assembled properly with u-joints lined up, some shafts had a "blind" spline so it can't be miss-aligned. 2. Does it look like a balance weight might have broken loose from the drive shaft? 3. I assume the U-joints were checked. 4. On my 86 F250 SC I found the replacement carrier bearing support was a different height than the original. I ended up shimming the carrier bearing I think it was about 1/8" or 3/16". Used wheel alignment shims but, washers will work.

It sounds like your driveline is not "in phase". If you did not get your yokes in proper position, after separating your splined driveline, you will get a vibration. I would check to see if you are correct or have a good shop take a look to see.

It is not your u-joints per say, it's your front and rear yokes that need to face the same direction. You have a yoke on the tranny end and a yoke on the diff. end, and they need to be "in-phase" for balancing purposes.

Hi guys, just made a similar post on the F150 boards. Those who are dead set on tackling this yourself can use a grinder and cut of wheel. There is more than 1 bearing that will need to be cut, but arent too hard. just work your way from the outer bearings/in, cutting diagonally (preferably 2 cuts) and pry apart with screwdriver. Also, be sure not to cut into the driveshaft itself. Safety glasses are a must to see your work when finished
