My cousin saw this truck a couple years ago and told me about it. I finally got to see it on a HillBillyProud DVD. I wrote Keith at HillBillyProud but he didnt have any info on it. I was wondering if anybody on here knows about it. Its a early to mid 80s F-series . Any info would be appreciatted.

I know that truck and the driver owner is a friend of mine..


460 power is about all I can tell you now.
Planitary axles out of a skidder if I remember right.
Weighs about 11,000 pounds.

I have to go see the owner in the near future and I will get a picture and more specs.

That truck lives about 10 miles from me.

Spoke with the owner/builder today.

I will be going down maybe tomorrow and may log on at his house.

We will take a couple pics and he can give you all of the build info if you want.

1986 model which he turned into Wooley in 1990.

After thinking last night, I think I was very lite on my weight last night.
I am now thinking close to 20,000 pounds.

Still looks great for a 20 year old build.

 

Thanks much Dave. Well, I eat , sleep, and breathe monster trucks. I am somewhat of a historian on them . I have always been disappointed about the lack of monster trucks from my home state. Anyway, I also am a staff member of www.monsterphotos.com , a huge monster truck site. I would love to ad pics and info to the site. Or if the owner is note interested in that, just some pics and info I can share with my monster truck friends on the onternet.

I would like all the specs if possible. History of the truck. Any special feats it did,i.e. car crushes and such. from what I saw on the video, its a cool looking truck that deserves some recognition.Thanks for taking your time to do this. I appreciatte it.

Well as luck would have it, I went down this evening and the owner had to leave for an appointment.

But I did get a front shot of it in the shed.



And one of the owner beside a tire, he is 6 feet tall.



He may be on later to fill in the build specs and we will get more pictures when we can get it out.
Not enough room in the shed to get better pictures of the side or rear.

Reps to Dave for having first hand info for ya monstertrucker! Looks like you came to the right place!

 

If I remember the tire size right and the overall gear reduction and the max RPM he can turn with the engine, I ran that through my RPM to speed calculator and came up with a top speed of 169 MPH.

67" tires
8.25 gear reduction
7000 RPM

 

Here is what he sent me.

I built this truck from a 1960 State Road dump truck frame which is doubled, from a KB5 International.
The rearends are from a W26 Case loader not tempkin top loaders this has a inline punkin.
We put Detroit Lockers on both ends.
All the driveline was built from 4140 1/4 wall tubing.
Has all aluminum Ardco drop box, chain driven.
I designed the brakes on both side of the drop box with 78 ford f250 rotors and steering pump pressure for boost, wow what a set of brakes.
The drop box has 20 teeth on the input shaft and 25 teeth on the output shaft.
The steering is Char-lyn 100% power, no manual linkage.
The engine is out of 69 Lincoln Town Car which was 365 hp right out the 69 70 Blue Book.
Yes, it has the big heads C8VE.
It came out around 600 HP plus or minus what ever the roller rockers give you.
12 to one compression ratio.
Cant run anything under 112 octane or you cant shut it down.
The transmission is a C6 Ford i beefed up the clutch packs and added a quick shift kit made short tail shaft, and a 12 inch jack shaft to the drop box.
1986 Ford F250 cab and bed.
Hand cut and fitted all the aluminum around the truck, started building the truck in 2000
and first run was in 2002.
Tied up the east coast mud points in Masontown WV, I believe in March 02.
I was loosing my wife to brain cancer and could not make it to recieve the trophy.
But i did try to run it one or two times a year.
The truck weighs 11,000 lbs on digital readout scale.
All naturally asperated runs 150 ft in 5.13 seconds.
The tires are 23-1-26 extreme skidder tires.

I was just on the phone with him, using his top speed on radar, and 6500 as a top RPM on 67" tires, the overall drive ratio works out to 34 to 1 after the transmission, drop box, axle ratio and planatary gears in the hubs.

Roger is as good a guy as anyone could ever ask to meet.

He has an 8 x 10 that I am going to bring up and scan sometime in the near future, I will make sure to email you a copy.

That will still have all the stickers and everything just like it was i the video.

Also in te near future, when it comes out for this summer, I will be taking some digital shots of it and probably a video as well.


Question from Roger, do you have the video you originally saw it in?
And if so, what event was it taken at?

He never did get a copy of any of the videos when he was running the truck.

His wife Janet did not make it through her cancer.
He stayed very close to home and took care of her to the very end though.

got some info for you and Roger. The 2nd DVD on the "Go Truck Go"DVD has"Wooley Bully" in the bonus video section. The video was shot at the Lewis County Fair in 2007 in Weston. Its a short clip about 10-20 seconds long, but impressive none the less.
