Matched set Dana 44 hp & 9" Ford value?

I just bought a 1978 F150 Supercab 4x4 that has Dana 44 hp (w/lockouts) and 9" Ford-both 5x5.5 and both axles have 3.50 posi (according to VIN and if they haven't been altered). Dana has leaf perches and disc brakes (single piston?).
I plan to upgrade to Dana 60 or a 44 hp w/8 lug and a corporate 14 bolt rear and to help in the cost of the swap want to sell the matching 5 lug set of axles. My guess is for the most $ I should market these axles to the Jeep 4x4 community. I searched around and found info (Mr. N, Jeep forums,Pirate 4x4,etc) and they all say the Dana 44 hp 5 lug w/spring perches (1/2" wall tubes?) should bring a "premium" over a coil sprung Dana 44 hp. But I can't find any mention of actual prices. Any of you guys have any thoughts on what price to put on this set of axles? Or, are they just not worth much at all?

Yes, I'm aware I can convert my 5 lug Dana to 8 lug but I'm sure I'll be in the market for a Dana 60 hp.

straight axle Dana 44 is worth about $300 here, the Ford 9" is about $125 complete drum to drum IF you can sell it. That is the most common ratio and can be had here at Pull-A-Part for $65 or less. The reason I say less is because on items that are generally scrap material, you can get cheaper.

yup thats about right.

I sold a coil spring 44/9" 3.50 right before Christmas for $400.

BTW,
the only thing you'd be gaining by swapping in a 44 8lug would be dual piston calipers and matching rims. Nothing is HD about a D44HD.

Around here the set goes for about $400-500 it seems. More towards 500 if you include all the steering components.

Might have some luck selling to the FSB guys too - they all want to get rid of that abortion known as TTB on their 80-96's.

Thanks for the input and advice everyone. I completely forgot about the TTB Ford's. I'll put them up FS on the FTE site first hoping to help out a fellow member.

If no interest here then its off to the underground forum's for operation "Snake in the grass "...
