what can I say
We bought 20 general mess of crap V6 305 power in 1964, replacing 20 1956
B750 buses. Every one of these new buses fans went through the radiators.
Thus putting the ole Fords back in service, till GM made good. about two months.
Next was a new fleet of the same old, only I think they were 305 V8s. Those
broke crankshafts right behind timing gears, Next adventure around 1975 was
the clutch linkage ball at the bellhousing. All of them snapped off. Meanwhile
we had a few Marmon Herrington city buses one with a Lincoln flathead, and
the rest were 332 Y blocks rear engines mounted sideways. I remember they
were only three speed tranny but would blow the doors off anything with
wheels on it. Back to the subject of the Hatfiels & McCoys. Now being an
old man, my thinkin changin, I think they otta shake hands; get together and
fued with rice burners that partly put this country down the tolet; does RCA
still make TVs?? Odd enough with all the wheels I have turned there was only
one 1946 Dodge for a short time. bottom line there were many great ones
Studies Parkards Nash the Checkers Divcos that GM did their damdnest
to step on like killin ants, and they did.
Now I do time to time go out with freinds in a new Chev or Dodge. Ok so we
are in 2013, both go as expected, BUT my kid buys a brand new F350 and
that separates the men from the boys. I think they spelled Ford wrong, it
should say Lincoln, (and I do have a town car). Those who say American
is inferior, they aint rode in a new Ford truck yet. We went on a 500 mile
trip with a 10 ton trailer back there, never knew there was a trailer, my back
didnt hurt cant hear nothin, but the radio. The fits, trims are Roll Royce
quality. Not to mention the 1947 Ford tractor the old man bought new.
As I speak, we never spent a nickle on it till this day & it aint no toy, and we
work this tractor ..

I am a Ford guy, always will be. I can't stand GM. If someone handed me the keys to a brand new Silverado or Sierra tomorrow morning and told me that it's mine, and I have to pay nothing...I'd call a flatbed to tow it to a Ford dealership to trade it in on a new F-150 and I'd take out a loan for the difference if there is any.

I recall a similar event that happened in the 60s when Ford tried to buy Ferrari from Enzo himself. Well Enzo rejected. Ford got steamed, so he had his designers hit Ferrari right where it hurt...the race track. They came out with the Ford GT40 Mark II and it came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Many years before my time but still a good story.
