Anyone know where I can find a One Piece Window Kit for a '49 F1?

All of the major resto parts houses carry the kits. Try Sacramento Vintage Ford, Dennis Carpenter, Mac's Antique Auto Parts, etc.

Installation Instructions

Can any of you help with some installation instructions on the one piece door window kits. My dad and I have built 3 53 f100 pickups and are now on a 52 F1 pickup and our first 1 piece window kit... Any help would be most appreciated as we do not want to break any windows. Basic questions are do we install all of the window felt and gasketing first? Does the window install through the top by sliding it down into the channel at an angle or does it fit some how through the face of the door?

thank you,
Thomas

I put the channel in first but because thr felties would not stay in with the clips that came with the kit I glued them after the glass was installed, note you have to be real careful and not get the glue on your paint, trust me.

Window/Glue question

What kind of glue did you use when gluing the felt down?

We have a '49 F1, and are removing the wing windows. The install directions that came with the kit are not very helpful. Looking for any tips!

And what type of glue did you use when gluing the felt?

Thanks!

Brought up earlier in the other thread, I'm glad it's getting this circulation. I'm seriously willing to sell this thing for a loss. But anyways, it wont work for him, the kit is for a 53-55.

One piece side glass

Anyone used the Classic Truck Glass?
It looks great but you never know until you put the set-up in.

Yes, I used for passenger side window on my 60 (I broke original replacing all felt and division bars)-great customer service, packaging and fit. I would recommend

Joe

edit: this was not the one piece kit

One piece glass

It's not very hard to make your own kit. Take out the wind wing. Use the original glass as a pattern, adding the extra material for the missing piece. Make a template of plywood for the one piece glass. It takes a little cutting and fitting but isn't really that hard. After getting the glass fitted put it in the door and put in the channeling and attach the anchors for it. I made mine out of some pieces of metal channel that was the correct size for the window channel and tack welded them in place. I used a set of electric swithces with the original handles that travel up and down about 1 1/2". Can't really say how well they're going to last as it is yet to hit the road, but don't see why it won't hold up with use.
