LPOP gauge install

I am looking to install a temp. LPOP gauge. My question is where to tap into to get the reading ( need to check if oil pressure is dropping when warmed up). Will just any regular oil gauge work for this?? How high of pressure will it get to be? This is to check for the same problem from my other thread.

You can remove the oil pressure sensor on the top left of the hpop and replace it with a gauge.

There is also a plugabove the oil filter on the oil cooler end cap. That is where I take mine.

Didn't think about that one. That would be a great place to run a permanent mechanical gauge from. That way you could always monitor your pressure and yet still have the idiot gauge working in the dash...

Glad I looked this up since I'm looking at installing a electric oil pressure gauge from Autometer.
I was wondering if I could use that plug that is near the oil filter so this thread helped me out.
Still not sure why the instructions say to hook a wire up the a ignition wire though.

The part neal is talking about is for an oil bypass system.
But it would work for a gauge.

I have my gauge hooked up there. Soon will have oil temp there also.
I don't have a bypass system.
