01 to 05 gauge swap need help

Ok im bout to buy a 05 set of gauges but i can't find out anywhere if the plugs are the same as in my 01 S.D. i know they are the same siz and all just wondering if anyone can help.

Doesn't matter, wont work anyway, PCMs are different (01's to 05's and you have to program the instrument panels to the PCMs now because 05's use CAN protocols. Think of it as Windows 98 for cars. You have to install the instrument panels like software on a computer. No plug and play. The PCM has to know how to work the new panel. 01's did not use CAN for the entire car, only for the engine, IIRC.

oh okay thanks alot. i was figuring that there would be something like that because the miles and all are electronic on the 05 and mine are a dial, but i wanted to be sure one way or the other.
