LPOP trashed what went through it
HI all
I have a 05 6.0 PSD something went through my LPOP, getting ready to pull the pan to see if i can see anything . Any ideas on what might of gone through it and what to look for . Read some thing about a STC clamp once , dont know what that is or where. Any help would be great.

Welcome to FTE jaycool 47 What makes you think the low pressure pump is done? The lpop gears do break on occasion and trash the front cover, also do you use any after market programming? The snap to connect fitting (STC) is on the high pressure oil pump and the STC does not break or scatter pieces, it just separates allowing high pressure oil to escape.

can you maybe provide some pics of the both gears, the pump cover and the front cover were the pump sits in. with that maybe we can provide some sound advice.
I have seen lots o stuff run through them and seen a few broken, saw one that ate the front of the crank.

Thanks so much for the quik responses you guy are awsome . I do have the gerotor pump off and the front cover and pump housings are both scored pretty bad like something went through it. Im thinking my next step should be pulling the pan off and checking to see if something is coming loose up in there.Judging by the depth of the score i dont see how somthing that big could get by the screen.

jay once again I would ask you to post a picture or a link to pics of the damage done to the pump. I can reconize most of the marks from damaged g-rotor pumps. depending on what the damage is depends on were to look first or if you should even bother looking.
I have seen lifters come apart, stc fittings, drings, rockers all pass through and cause damage. the worst case will be a lifter.
so far as trash getting past the screen when you see the screen looks more like a 1/16 scale chain link fence it will make sence.
