I'm really getting close to firing up my 292, 64 F-100; but I have a lot of questions about the generator/regulator wiring. The guy @ the auto parts store where I purchased my new regulator told me to polarize it by briefly conncecting the b and f terminals. Do I have to polarize the generator also? (it's not new). I assume it was used on the vehicle at some time.
Also, there are 3 terminals on the generator 2 on the round portion one marked F, one marked G (not clearly marked could be O or C); and also one on the rear of the generator. Can someone identify these 3 terminals. My wiring schematic is not very clear on this wiring, is there a simpler diagram that even a dummy could follow?? Thanks for any info you might have!

 

I you can't find a diagram or any info on it do a search for "the old car parts manual" . Its a website that has nothing but original manuals. There is one section that has wiring diagrams. When I wired my 66 I found a nice set for the 64 that I used to assist in rewiring mine. If I remember correctly they have one that is just the charging circuit.
