the fipl sensor is 1.0v at idle setting witch is right for normal operation, i replaced my own recently. i got a cheaper one from autozone cause i didn't wanna pay the ford price (they got enough of my money on that day"
i couldnt get my cheap senser to go above 3.6v at wot when it was adjusted to 1.0v at idle.
i read that you could increase the idle setting a little (mine went to 1.35 or thereabouts)
and now it shifts a bit later and by a bit i mean at 2200 rpm instead of 1250.
i like it a lot better for driving with a load or towing.
i've been working with the cheap sensor for about a month and a half now so its working so far, ill probably get an actual ford one later maybe after my first paycheck witht he new job

so basically as far as i know it should be allright, but you may look into a replacement if you want to go from 1.0v all the way to 4.6v

remember though, the sooner you can get into your next higher gear(without lugging.but the auto will shift way before the idi could even think about that anyway) the better your fuel mileage is going to be.
im telling ya guys.start out slow and easy, and let her get into the gears quick.
im getting 20+ mpg like this.(roughly.based on a couple gals estimate at a time.)

you guys who need to haul ars 70+ and get there like no tomorrow.......well big oil co's love ya lol.
thats one of the cool things i noticed right off about this combo.is she would go right into the next gear quick and low mph's.
the engines torquey and can handle it.if your hauling, and you want to make her stay put,why not use the shifter?
if you shifts are mushy and your hoping to firm them up by going to higher rpm shift points,i see.but man, shift kits dont cost much.

LOL If I go to town it is usually a 200 mile trip, I don't think I will be going to slow, in fact if I was to try to run 55 or 60 it would be downright dangerous.

Josh I may have traded for one with an E40D today, not sure what for. The last time I seen it and the last time it was driven it shifted real hard, is this a fipl problem or more serious.
