i need a headlight switch

does anyone know of an available headlight switch, that fits exactly in the stock location, without modifying anything, that either has the **** looking the same, or able to take the old **** off and put it on the new switch? ive seen some in my magazines, but they are about $100 new! are they pretty universal for the years, i mean interchangable with the cars and other trucks? i see ones for cars for my year (59) on ebay pretty cheap, but not sure if they would work. thanks for any help!

I have seen them one-bay for the 57-60 trucks that were between 25-50 bucks. Most repro suppliers are around $80.

Most pull on light switches were basically the same even with the different manufacturers. A spring loaded button on the top rear of the switch releases the **** and stem. As long as the stem on the original **** is the same diameter and length to the notch it likely will interchange into the replacement switch and work fine. I'd either scrounge around older salvage yards or visit your local NAPA store with a friendly older counter man.

I looked and saw that price on the56-57 switches. Just about everyone has those.

But the price really jumps up -to about $110 for a 59 switch. I'm not sure why either. The tabs on top are configured a little differently, but it should work just the same.
