1978 F-150 4x4
First off, I'd like to mention that it's great to have such a place on the internet and my hats off to FTE and members.
So, I found this lovely 1978 F-150 4x4. I'm partial to Ford and this seems like a hell of a deal. Sorry there aren't more images.

what do you guys think about the beast with a 400 ?
i spoke with the guy (very nice guy) on the phone and he stated that there was some holes in the floorboards ( i plan on patching any holes like that with a pop rivet gun and sheet aluminum). and there is some rust around the wheel wells and bed (of course).
I plan to check it out tomorrow and don't know what to expect, the owner claims it runs fine and that he has too many vehicles just sitting around. i offered to trade my sks for it, but he was interested in shotguns.
Anyhow, just thought I'd check with you guys to see what your opinions are about older dentsides.
thanks for your input!

cool, thanks for the input guys.
i had no idea floorpans were that cheap.
my uncle, a certified mechanic for decades sold his 1979 f-150 2wd to my cousin, his nephew and it's got over 260,000 on the odometer. of course it was well taken care of, but it's still tickin. it's a 300 inline 6, so of course it's gonna last. 20mpg on flat land.
i was wondering about the 400. it's not very popular and there doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there.

cool. my buddy had an older f250 super cab with a 460 in it. so much room to work on the older models, 3 little kids could fit under the hood.

I'm a bit confused. my buddys f250 was i believe a 1975 and it had those twin I beams/rails that ran the entire length of the truck.
from your tag line i can see that you have a 1978 F150 white single cab long bed w/ 400, C6, NP205 4x4. Does your model truck have the TTI?

yes, it is a hell of a deal. I would get on it before someone else does. They put a big block in the 78 f150's?? Im suprized he won't trade you the sks. Nice and simple vehices to keep running. I know a 351m, 360, 390, and 460 are great engines. Not even sure where to start on a 400. But those old ford big block eights are sturdy like tanks Worth 1100$ For the shape, besides ford stands for:
F ound
O n
R ednecks
D riveway !

sorry. the TTI was a typo. my bad. i meant TIB. no. my truck is a solid front axle, as are all 4x4 trucks of the era. the TTB is the 4x4 version of the TIB, that they started usin in the 80s. two wheel drives had the TIB.
this is the TIB
