besides what is listed there, the shifting linkage from the steering wheel needs to be adjusted (it works, just the gears dont match up with the letters, as in, when its on the "r" its actually in neutral." and the horn doesnt work (it has 2 of them, a standard and an air horn, with a selector switch, they just dont seem to work.)
alot of you guys on here are experts and i have no doubt theres at least one of you who wants to make a quick buck fixin this thing up. i bit off more than i could chew. it starts and runs, but will stall if you dont feather the gas. it backfires through the carb on light acceleration. read my old threads for details. ive replaced the solenoid, starter, and battery. cleaned the brushes on the alternator, put in a new battery cable for the negative lead, and rigged up some cherry bombs to the headers (its loud. if i had gotten it running, i would have put some decent mufflers on it.) the plow works great. i think its an 8 foot but i never measured it, lol. will check that out when its light. the tires are huge. 32 inch i think. mudding tires, with almost full tread. they were $200 each 2 years ago, but havent really been driven on much since. also there is a break somewhere in the brake lines. havent bothered looking for it, as i never got it running right, so there wasnt any point. master cylinder is in good shape though. has a tag on it, i believe it was replaced recently.
body is good, some surface rust is starting to show through the primer, but no rot. needs to be sanded and painted. underside is ok. better than you'd expect for a 33 year old plow truck. 4 x 4 seems to work. this might need only a small adjustment to the distributor, it may need a timing chain and sprockets (ebay has aftermarket upgrade ones for this engine for $40), or it may need a valve job. i dont know, ive had it too long and my family is getting mad at me.
i may not be a good salesman, but ive been as thoroughly truthful as i can. not like the guy who lied to me when he sold it to me, the ******* taking advantage of an out of work kid who didnt know what he was doing. i know this is worth something to somebody. maybe just parts, a plow, and good tires. so please, make me an offer, or ask me any questions you like. will need to be towed. i payed $2000 for this thing, and have put about $400 of parts into it.
Has an amp with graphic EQ, auxiliary input for ipod, and a subwoofer. 4 speakers. tape deck. in the utility bed, there are a bunch of spare parts. 2 distributor caps, an air filter, tranny fluid. stuff like that.
i live in a town called rowley, mass, about 30 miles north of boston, 15 miles south of seabrook, new hampshire.
NOTE: odometer reads 38,900 but it only has 5 digits. the guy who sold it to me SAID that was correct, but who knows? he lied to me about more than one thing. actually the title also says thats correct. i dunno.
carb was rebuilt by me like 3 months ago.
thanks and ill put some pics up tomorrow.
