radio removal

Ok I have the right tool for the job.stuck them in the head unit and the radio doesn't move........ Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

What I did was push them all the way in then apply pressure outward while wiggling the radio from side to side a bit. I thought that mine was stuck when I removed it as well.

first beat your head on it then get another et of hands and in 2 hours you should have it. when we did my dads truck it would not move then it just came out, they have to be in there just so so.

Make sure the hooked end on the tool is pointed inward toward the radio

I just popped the dash panel out, just takes a few minutes then reach back around and pop the deck out.

What Jim and Matt said. If you push the tools in to far it will just jam the spring clips.




How the tool tips push the spring clips inward when you push the tools outward.

Nice pics Robin...

I took a small pry bar stuck it in the tape hole. After that face plate brakes off it is much easier to see whats going wrong...

Nice Pics Indeed.. I was just thinking when i opened this thread that i need to take pictures of taking out the radio. And Bam.. You got it handled.. Nice.. Nice tool.. I made up something similar.

Thanks Mark.

Too many posts about fighting with getting it out. Knowing just how it's held in helps. If the tool is off by even an 1/8", in or out, that sucker don't want to come out. Been there, done that.

I was actually given the tools by an audio installer. I just added the tape.
