Tune Up, Tuner and Y Pipe
Well I talked to Mike at 5 Star today, I have a tuner with 91 and 93 Performance and a 91 Tow settings on its way as well as a Y Pipe. I'm about to order 10 Plugs, 10 Boots and a new Fuel Filter from www.fastpartsnetwork.com for the tuneup.
Hopefully this will take care of my powerless rig. She does okay around town, but she's a dog on the freeway, especially with a travel trailer hooked up behind her. I'm really hoping that this will clear up the PING PING PING when trying to tow anythign over 60MPH.
Anything else you guys can thing of other than clean the MAF and my intake.
Thanks,
Heath

I'd say change the air and fuel filter along with the rest of your tune up. The Y-pipe will help alot with the towing and just a quicker responce when you jump on the gas going up steep grades.
I have the SC tuner for 91 and the tow package. I don't really use it anymore, just because I didn't want my truck getting hooked on 91 octane. That might be a reason for the ping, but thats just a guess. Mine does just fine when I throw the trannie into 2nd going up steep grades and will maintain 60 mph.

That's the same type I have. It will work you just have to play with it. I had the same problem with mine the first time I changed it. Just keep at it you'll get it. Good luck, John

Once you change a couple filters you will get the hang of it. I remove the rear line first, then the front line and then pull the filter out of the overly strong clip that holds it in place. Make shure you put the new filter on properly with the arrow that indicates fuel flow or you'll be pulling it off again. I have the scissors type double end tool also that I got from Napa. I only use Napa filters, autozone and advanced often sell junk foreign filters.
