IN LOVING MEMORY OF KERMIT OUR DOG
Today was a sad day for us. Kermit had gotten to the point because of health issues that we had to have him put down. He will be missed dearly. He gave us 13 years of unconditional LOVE, companionship, & wonderful memories. I had to take him to the his Vet in Fallon this morning. It is so hard to make a decision as what to do in these cases. His Vet told me that she didn't think we were making a decision to early given his health issues. She had seen him 8 months earlier & gave us the list of how to tell when it was time.
Anyway, I just wanted to let those of you that remember him know. He will be FOREVER MISSED.

Sorry to hear about your loss. The companionship of a dog is a wonderful thing.
About 6 or 7 years ago, I was visiting my parents in L.A., and their dachsy had made it to about 14 years old. We saw her in the driveway on Father's Day, panting and showing signs that the end was near. We found a vet open on a Sunday who could take care of her, and my Mom and I stayed with her when they put her down. Man I don't think I'd cried so hard in so long. She had been a Mother's Day gift to my Mom, and I still remember being the one to give her to Mom that day. She was a mini dachshund pup who fit on the palm of my hand.
Now that my wife and I have our own dogs, there are days that I think about what it'll be like when they hit the end of the road. Hopefully I'm home and not in a hotel somewhere.
Here's to you & the memories of Kermit.

Craig...Vici...please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your beloved Kermit. The decision you made is the same one dog lovers face...it goes with the territory. Your lives were enriched by Kermit's companionship...as was Kermit's by your companionship.
I'm not sure if you've ever seen the following...but...It's provided me and many friends with comfort over the years. I hope it provides you with some!!!

Ken thanks for the poem. Thanks to all. He spent 13 years by my side. He went everywhere with me. The only time he didn't go was when I rode my motorcycle. Dano I felt that way for a long time also. You just have to enjoy every day with them. I kept hoping I would wake up one day & he would of passed on in his sleep. But he was so strong willed that I realized that wasn't going to happen.
I just have to let myself morn the loss.
