WATER IN FUEL Emergency!!

i have a 2000 7.3

the trucks water in fuel light came on, drained bowl, went off for a sec, then back on. got to the point it was dying, starving for fuel, then if it started, shutting off if accelerator was pressed. i drained tank, replaced filter, put in powerservice and 5 gallons of new fuel. truck starts and idles as normal, but when you push the accelerator, the truck kills itself, not through starvation, but as if the computer is shutting it down, as the rpms go up, the truck prevents them from it, and the accelerator becomes dead, and kills the truck.....

sorry, skipped that. no, SES, just all lights as truck shuts itself down. if you let go of the accelerator, the truck jumps back up to idel, but if you hold onto it, the truck will die. there are no codes per my superchips programer

I would let it idle for a bit it may be just a lot of air and possibly some water mixed in the lines needing to be purged out. Also a possibility that the screen in the tank is plugged up with gunk as well.

Wow....make sure you get it warmed up if it's freezing there....or you'll have little ice cubes in your fuel system.

Sounds like a gel up situation. When I had this happen to me, I left the truck where it was and went to get some Diesel 911. Poured half in the tank and another bit with fresh fuel in the fuel bowl. A day later she fired up and I brought her home.
