Not the truck, but my Mustang. The local Ford/Toyota dealership my wife works for used it for their commercial. I can now put professional stunt driver on my resume. With some clever editing it appears that Jim the shuttle driver is actually driving.
I was shooting k.d.Lang's first music video, Hanky Panky, in the early 1980s. Being the producer and with her having no money then, the crew "gear truck" in the video was my 1949 Merc 1/2 ton. I still drive it every day, still making films and commercials. I'll see if I can pull a still from the archives. Cheers. Michael.
Our film "The Greatest Auto Race on Earth" was featured in the German edition of Playboy in June 2012, including a bit on the making of the picture cars. My driver, a 49 Merc, was the "band truck" in k.d. Lang's first video that we did called "Hanky Panky" back in the early '80s. Lots of print on the Great race film in Europe and Canada. Hope this helps. Cheers. Michael.
