Old Pics Of SoCal

I've been coming across a few of these lately on another site, and I thought I'd share...hope you'll do the same with old pics you find.

Here's US 101 being built, back when City Hall was the tallest building in town. Hall of Justice in the center. I'd like to know what the old building on the right is. edit: Keith (wb6anp) researched it and discovered the building in question to be the old Hall Of Records. Thanks for that Keith

Ventura Blvd & Topanga Canyon Rd. 1923

Taken along Ventura Blvd. in what would become Woodland Hills - 1956

Colfax Av. bridge - Valley Village 1938

We've all seen this cascade north of I-5 in Sylmar. The pic is from the LA Aqueduct opening ceremony in 1913

As the sign indicated, Girard was the original name of what is today Woodland Hills. At the same time, Canoga Park was named Owensmouth.

I'll have to take my camera to my barber's shop and grab some shots of photos hanging there.

The Rose Bowl as it neared completion in 1921. The massive earthmoving was done with Mule drawn scrapers.

Found a photo of the critters.

Van Nuys Airport in 1941 Known as Los Angeles Metropolitan Airport. Roscoe would be parallel to the runway at the bottom of the pic, you just see the SP RR tracks.
