I suspect it wouldn't be drastically different from what the late-40's upstate Minnesota farmstead was like, though we had pretty-dependable electricity, a crank phone, and good well water.

Cars were capable of higher speeds (at least on the paved highways) and had softer, more dependable tires, too.
