I found a few Al:
US 101 (I-5) @ Las Pulgas Rd.before Camp Pendleton existed
US 101 & Ca 78 in 1954
Mission Valley interchange (Now Ca163/I-8) in 1947
Here's one that's near Big George...US 395 (I-15) being widened to 4 lanes @ Poway Rd. 1965
View north in 1975 from the median of I-15 near Mercy Road, with the Poway Road interchange in the distance. The bridge on the right originally carried both directions of traffic on US 395. New northbound lanes have since been built adjacent to the southbound lanes, with the old US 395 bridge used as a bike route.
I-15 construction north of Escondido in 1979, looking south. Gopher Canyon Road is just off the bottom of this picture.
Construction of the I-15 Lilac Rd overcrossing, south of Fallbrook 1977.
Today....beautiful bridge
Even found a video...not the greatest quality, but pretty interesting. I wonder how many times the passenger smacked that old 8mm camera around on the interior of the car while filming this:

Great for me to see all these pics! I have lived a very big portion of my life in SoCal.
Going back to 1948 when I was small fry. Lots of travels and places followed but kept coming back like a yoyo every few years. Got out of the Army 1969, headed west and landed in Carlsbad. Moved around the county a bit. But of those pictures I remember lots of the places in those time contexts.
Left North San Diego county in 1979 for Los Angeles... lived there through 1988 then moved to Tahoe.

An article in this mornings sports section about Gilmore Stadium:
THEN AND NOW: Gilmore's legacy lives on - Whittier Daily News
It was demolished before I was born, but seems like it was an interesting place and a Hollywood icon in the 40's.
Here is a site with some history and photos:
Gilmore Field Photo Gallery - Ballparktour.com
Here are a couple that I found interesting.
Midget racing got started here, invented by Mr. Gimore.
All dressed up for a minor league baseball game.
