Need advise on fuel pressure sender location!
Okay guys I posted yesterday that my adapter which converted the Metric tap on fuel housing to 1/8" IPT had stripped my housing out. I am convinced that the adapter was not exactly the right size cause it just turns now but original plug screws in and tightens.
My question is where else can I tap for fuel pressure. There is a line going into the front of fuel housing that would be easy to put a wye in with 1/8" female threads to accept fuel transmitter.
Any comments appreciated.
One other question: After putting the original plug back in and started engine it was missing really bad, no smoke. drove it down the street and seemed to be getting better does this sound like air in system from me trying to get line attached all evening? I had removed it and put it back several times.

Where did you get the adapter you have now? The test port is the best spot.
I would be leery of cutting the factory lines as thats just a place for a leak to develop in the future. Also, it's in your best interest to read fuel pressure after the upper filter.
I have seen guys tap the plastic upper fuel filter cap with success. It works, but doesn't look the best IMO.

Somebody makes a billet cap, I just can't remember who. IIRC it is already threaded for an adapter. HTH
EDIT: Heres one on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=120482821381

Bought it at Dfuser .com, talked to them today and told them I thought the adapter was not correct size or not long enough as it stripped way to easy.Sending it back so he can look at it. But now I find my pressure transmitter is to long and hits the upper radiator hose so need to turn it 45 deg to clear .Tapping the cap sound like a good idea.

I agree that you should give the correct adapter another shot.
If you go the tapped cap route, you should get a 90* fitting to bring the sender off horizontally. Tapping plastic is a delicate operation. You'll have to drill all the way through the center of the cap, but the threads should only be cut so the fitting is a little more than snug.Too tight and you can crack the cap. You'll want an 1/8" NPT male/female 90* and 1/8" NPT tap(same as an EGT thermocouple). Make sure the inside of the cap is clean when you're done.
