Yes you can switch on the fly it what ever gear, going what ever speed and like Darin said don't do it under WOT conditions. I always pull my foot off the accelerator completely and then switch tunes, and I have yet to have a problem in the 2.5 years I've had it.

That's because the 140 will have higher fueling and timing in that setting, whem I had my custom chip from jim over at PSN I hads a 100hp setting that I loved, it started much cleaner and reasier in the morning due to the high timing advance. Like rich said, we both opull our foot off to switch, I always switch tunes when I'm at idol, mostly because its a 5spd but my last truck I had the same behavior.

Yes you can swith on the fly you just don't want to switch at WOT or while you are tugging on it pretty hard. Only switch it when you are cruisein and not on the go pedal hard.

The drive thru setting on mine smokes bad too. Yes it is nice and quiet but you have to have the passenger window up. Kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me. I don't use my DT setting because of that.

Not sure where you are reading this. Sorry for the confusion if you did. All we ask is you don't switch to a higher or lower hp tune while the truck is under load. For example: while you are on a steep grade towing a heavy load.

Has he changed the drive thru tune in the last year or so? I had drive thru added to mine when he was in Spokane last year and I have the same problem as Neal... people behind me in the drive through REALLY hate it when I use that tune Lots of awful smelling white smoke.

To make it quiet Jody has to do certian things in the tune. The smoke can be adjusted, but you have to give up some of the quiet. I would not leave it in the drive thru tune if you think you will be in line a long time. I use mine for a minimum of 1-2 minutes. Smoke is not an issue for me using it for just a minute or two. I have stock injectors though.

I have stock injectors too, an after about 5-10 seconds the truck starts belching white smoke so I don't use drive-thru anymore. I just pull as far ahead as I can and yell

Humm, might have Jody take a look at that if you are going to be near the live tuning event in Spokane. I have a little smoke after being in it a while, not much just a small haze. Like I said, not a huge issue. It's definitely not bellowing out though like yours is. Now my CCV is another story. At regular idle it is too smokey for me.
