Year: 1992
Model: F-250
Trim: XLT
Driveline: 7.3 N/A, E40D, 4x4, 4.10 LS
Mileage when purchased and date: 205,995 02/19/10
price paid: $1200
I've only fixed little things (tighten alt belt, new door strikers, dome light bulb). Other then that truck runs great. When I bought it, it had tons of recites in the glove box for all the recent work (tires, glowplugs, batterys, ect.)
She's a bit slow, but I couldn't be happier.

Model: F Super Duty Cab/chassis, 16k gvw (F450 equiv?) XL bare bones, no A/C, upfitted with Versalift TEL-29 boom on Baker fiberglass/aluminum dp utility bed with tool storage and 2200 watt inverter.
Mileage when purchased: 185,500
Date purchased: December 09
Current mileage: 189,000
Price: 5300.00 which included recently replaced transmission, 6 tires, glow plugs, alternator, both batteries, water pump, upper/lower hoses, radiator, trans cooler, starter
Upgrades/maintenance I've done (thanks to you guys): HD shocks at ea corner (KYB), front sway bar links/bushings, coolant flush/fill to proper ph, read ok but didnt trust what radiator installer put in, stroke oil filter/rotella full syn 5w40, Generac 5500 watt gas generator mounted to bed, boom wear pads, nice cloth bench seat from F150 XLT, updated IDOT required warning stickers. About 800 bucks total.
Working on/still to come: Driveline brake, passenger side front fender (only panel with rust), replace side view mirrors, front wheel bearings, probably needs ball joints and front end rubber but not terrible yet, tunes, stainless big rig wheel covers...not a priority but will look cool, soup bowl mod, y pipe mod.
This IDI is awesome, still learning it but it does everything I expect of it and well. 13-14mpg with all that weight on it and 5.13 gearset. I love it.
By the time I'm done playing with it, I expect I'll have about 7000.00 total into it, about 1/2 the cost of a new Baker fiberglass utility bed. In my book, thats a lot of value.

This is the kind of thing that makes me feel real unlucky. Tell me it needs a new trans or something, even if you have to lie.

OK,the kid said the oil pump was bad,the trans was going out,and the rear was gone. The sending unit was bad on the factory gauge, the speedo didn't have a fuse so the trans didn't shift right, pinion bearings were bad in the rear.We did brakes all the way around, wheel bearings and lockouts in the front,B&M shift kit(trans fluid was bright red and pan clean),all bearings in the rear. Also had to put in a passenger door glass and window motor gear. The interior was really nasty but a good steam clean on the carpet, new radio and speakers, scrub the int.panels and put it all together. The wheels were on it just needed a good cleaning and a set of used tires from a buddy. It was smoking when we got it but it was raw fuel.I put in new injectors but it still did the same,I ended up moving the IP a little and she smoothed out and seems to be fine.I could have found one in the 3000 dollar range but this one now has new brakes and all steering linkage so I feel good about my son taking off in it every day.One big benefit was the time we spent together on it this winter.
